pretty sure its .020 2024 Al. To avoid oil canning,put it on in 2 or 3 sections, bend it over the spars and nail it with 1/2 concrete coated nails (which answers the question below).
My A/C has flannel over the Al, which covers the joints. cloth from neighborhood fabric store.
covered with stits 90X (no longer avail) all fabric one piece from te ,wrapped around le and back to te. no oil cans or other problems, no seams open to slipstream. be careful sanding paint.
