Rather than relocate the battery, why not use a lightweight battery. I use an Odyssey PC-680 drycell battery. It have great cranking power and has never let me down, even with a cranky injected engine. I've never run down my battery cranking my IO-360C1C with this battery. Also, even after setting all winter (3+ months) with no flying, running or charging, the battery cranked the first time.

The battery weighs just under 15 pounds and is small too, about 7"x7"x3" I'd guess. Even if you are considering relocating, weight is always a consideration and this battery is great as it weighs about 8-9 pounds less than a comparable Gill Aviation battery. And it is only $86 at BatteryMart.com
