The eyebolt fracture was on our duster.
The real shock was failure test results on the eyebolt which showed poor heat treating and cut threads - netting 1/4 of the design strength!!
If you can find suitably strong (and properly manufactured eyebolts) and/or do not fly the plane to its design limits - there should be no problem. Other choice is to modify the attachment design by welding structure and straps in place of the eyebolt attach fitting.
We could not find the right eyebolts and do fly to design limits on occasion - have just finished installation of totally new welded cabanes. They look super but took many-many weeks longer than Kevin had estimated. I'll attach pics soon.
Great flying airplane. Keep it and enjoy!
