75th Anniversary of the First Transpacific Flight Time: 12:00pm - 9:00pm Pacific Location: Oakland, CA 75th Anniversary of the First Transpacific Flight Western Aerospace Museum, Oakland Airport Oakland, CA May 31-June 8, 1928, Charles Kingsford-Smith piloted a Vokker tri-motor from Oakland, CA to Brisbane, Australia via Hawaii and Fiji. The Western Aerospace Museum of Oakland, CA will celebrate the anniversary of this flight at their facilities from noon until 9 PM. Featured speakers, among others, include the sons of the pilot and radio operator as well as the great-grandson of the donor who made the flight possible. Radio communications will connect concurrent events taking place in Hawaii, Fiji, and Australia. Australian tucker will be available for luncheon and dinner.
